Recently revealed, the Philippine Air Force (PAF) has announced a significant collaboration with the U.S. Air Force, marking a milestone in regional security efforts. This joint initiative, known as the Philippine-US Maritime Air Patrol (MARPAT), unfolded over the strategic regions of Batanes and the West Philippine Sea (WPS).

Stressing adherence to international laws and conventions, including UNCLOS, COLREG, and CUE, Aguilar highlighted the joint patrol as a testament to the Philippines' commitment to asserting sovereign rights and jurisdiction. These exercises, conducted west of Lubang Island, tested communication capabilities for real-life scenarios.
