India is all set to create a new record amidst rising hopes and enthusiasm with each passing moment. Isro said that chandrayaan-3 mission is moving forward to make a soft landing in the South Polar region this evening on schedule. With the landing on the moon, India will become the fourth country in the world and the first country to land on the South Pole. In the past, the UNITED States, Russia and China have done this historic feat.

Why was today chosen for chandrayaan-3's soft landing?

Why choose today's day?

The soft landing of the lander module (Vikram) means 6000 km. Bringing the speed of per hour to zero. During this time, Vikram himself will land on the lunar surface in a state of 90 degrees. The moon is bright for 14 days i.e. night for one day and 14 days. At present, it is night on the moon and on August 23, i.e. today, there will be sunrise there. Both lander Vikram and rover Pragyan will be able to get energy there with the help of solar panels.

What is the status of the lander?

The lander is currently orbiting the moon. It will be straightened to 90 degrees before landing. It will proceed to land on the moon in the same way as it flew from earth with a rocket. Isro Chief S. Somnath has said that Chandrayaan-3 has been made in such a way that even if all the sensors fail, it will make a landing. It will be able to land even if both engines are switched off.

These are the 3 challenges ahead of landing

The first challenge before Chandrayaan-3 is to control the speed of the lander. Chandrayaan-2 crashed due to high speed. Apart from this, another challenge facing Chandrayaan-3 is that the lander should be straight while landing. While the third challenge is that it will have to land at the same place that ISRO has chosen. Like last time, where it collides there or on a steep place, it will crash like Chandrayaan-2.
